Our Story
Botanical brilliance
Experience Memphis Gardens (EMG) is organized by the Cooper-Young Garden Club (CYGC), a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. EMG seeks to celebrate, champion and cultivate Memphis’ private/public green spaces and make Memphis a premier garden tourist destination. The aim is to create a celebratory atmosphere, educate, and inspire visitors to make their own outdoor spaces beautiful.
The 2025 City Wide Garden Walk is a “must attend” 6 week summer garden event for garden lovers across the Mid-South and beyond. Visitors will tour public/private gardens, business gardens, community gardens, cut flower farms, aquaponics, and a railroad garden, to name a few. Gardens of all styles and sizes are included, ranging from intimate urban retreats to sprawling country gardens, from sophisticated plant collections to exuberant displays of old favorites.
The Tour Begins
The 3rd annual EMG Tours runs May thru June 2025 with the 10th Annual Signature Cooper-Young Garden Walk, May 17-18, 2025, featuring over 100 gardens, speakers, musicians, and garden vendors, throughout the vibrant, historic neighborhood.
Walks & Events
The EMG event continues through June 2025, with city-wide garden walks and events, occurring throughout Memphis. The gardens are open on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Tickets
. Tour intimate, quirky, serene private gardens. See working farms with chickens, bees, & alpacas. Watch CBD production up close or a cut flower farm. Buy heirloom plants &garden art.
